About the role
Role Description/Overview:
This position gives students hands-on experience in event planning, coordination, and project management. The participant will support community events that strengthen civic participation and youth engagement.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and coordinating events and workshops
- Support vendor communication, scheduling, and logistics
- Help prepare event materials and evaluations
- Promote events through digital channels
- Assist during events with registration and support tasks
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Comfortable communicating with donors, vendors, volunteers, and event attendees
- Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in fast-paced environments
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Experience volunteering, organizing school events, or participating in community initiatives is an asset
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant program. In order to participate the candidate must:
- Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.
- Have a valid SIN
