Role Description/Overview

This role provides practical training in communication, donor stewardship, and digital marketing. The student will help craft professional communications that keep donors informed and connected to community-enhancing initiatives.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Draft donor messages, thank-you notes, and email updates
  • Assist with newsletters and campaign communication materials
  • Support event outreach and engagement lists
  • Update donor information in CRM systems
  • Assist with coordinating community engagement efforts


Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • Strong written communication and proofreading skills
  • Ability to write clear, professional, and audience-friendly messages
  • Familiarity with email platforms, newsletters, or social media communication
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail when managing donor information and communications
  • Basic experience with data entry and CRM systems (such as Salesforce) is an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset
  • Interest in marketing, communications, fundraising, or community engagement
  • Creative thinking and willingness to contribute new ideas


This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant program. In order to participate the candidate must:

  • Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the funded position.
  • Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status   has been granted/conferred.
  • Have a valid SIN
