Job Summary

Sportech offers qualified engineering students a real-world experience working in an innovative program designed to enhance academic experience, professional growth, and personal development. The Quality Engineering Intern will support new product development activities by assisting with quality planning, documentation, and analysis throughout the project lifecycle. This role provides hands-on experience with quality tools, engineering documentation, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Job Functions

  • Assist quality engineers with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including gathering data and preparing documentation. 
  • Support reviews of engineering drawings and help verify that customer requirements are accurately incorporated. 
  • Work with supply chain and suppliers to collect information related to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. 
  • Participate in prototype evaluations, sample inspections, and the transition of projects from development into production. 
  • Use basic metrology tools and statistical methods to help identify, analyze, and document quality issues. 
  • Support root cause analysis efforts and contributes to corrective action documentation. 
  • Help organize project milestones, timelines, and quality-related deliverables. 
  • Assist in documenting lessons learned, updating quality records, and preparing materials for design or customer reviews.
Requirements
  • A participant must be currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering program (Mechanical, Manufacturing, etc.) 
  • Basic understanding of quality or manufacturing processes, with interest in product development. 
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings; exposure to GD&T is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with various internal teams and external partners. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from experienced team members. 
  • Demonstrated integrity and high ethical standards. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel required). 
  • Participant must hold Junior or Senior standing.
  • Participant must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
Salary Description
$21 per hour
