The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Health & Safety Intern: Temporary Work Placement to work in a camp-based environment, working 12-hour shifts. Flexible work rotational schedule confirmed at time of hire.

Job Duties:
- Be a safety leader, adhere to and and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Support Coeur health and safety programs by following all safety rules, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Participate in workplace inspections and safety observations, documenting findings and assisting with follow-up actions.
- Support the preparation and administration of safety training materials, records, and attendance tracking.
- Help maintain Health & Safety systems, databases, and filing systems.
- Participating at practices with Coeur Silvertip – Mine Rescue team.
- Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives related to Health & Safety and operational processes.
Position Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a College Diploma or University Degree program related to Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Interest in Health & Safety, industrial operations, or heavy industry environments.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with data tracking or reporting tools is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Willingness to learn and apply Teck’s safety standards, procedures, and systems.
- Previous co-op, internship, or summer student experience in an industrial or operational environment is considered an asset.
- Standard First Aid CPR AED Level C or higher.
- Transportation Endorsement.
Work Placement Requirements:
- Must be registered in a full time or part time post-secondary program in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Silvertip is located within Tahltan and Kaska First Nations Traditional territories and local community members and Canadian Indigenous peoples are encouraged to apply.
- Additionally, remote British Columbia and Yukon residents are encouraged to apply.
- Positions may be eligible for external subsidies and applicants may be required to co-endorse subsidy agreement.
Additional Information:
- Willing to work a three week on and two week off rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
- Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
