Software Quality Assurance Intern

Position Overview

LGES Vertech is looking for motivated interns/Co-op to join their Data Science and Data Analysis

(DSDA) team and be part of the Climate Tech revolution and solve some of the complex problems in

the Li-ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and its operation As an SQA intern, you will play a

key role in validating software products and tools developed by our engineering team, helping to

maintain high standards of quality and consistency across our data-driven platforms.

You will gain hands-on experience in software testing, automation, and deployment processes

while working closely with developers, data scientists, and data engineers. This is a unique

opportunity to build your skills in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on sustainable

energy solutions. You will acquire rich experience in software product engineering working within

the DSDA team.

Key Responsibilities

• Be part of the Climate tech revolution and help solve the most complex problems through

software engineering.

• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests, including frontend testing with tools like

Selenium and Playwright.

• Apply basic debugging skills to identify, reproduce, and help resolve software issues across

different environments.

• Experience working with AWS (S3, EC2, IAM roles)

• Collaborate on GitHub repositories, using branching strategies and pull requests, with

ability to resolve merge conflicts

• Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools

• Package code for deployment or delivery (e.g., Docker images, Python packages)

• Participate in team meetings, QA reviews, and Agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, sprint

reviews)

Job Requirements

• Enrolled or graduated with a Ph.D. or MS or B.S in computer science, Data Science,

Mathematics, or equivalent degree program.

• Basic understanding of software development process.

• Good experience with Python-based software development.

• We are looking for candidates to be available for at least 4 months of internship.

• The internship is onsite at our Westborough office, and it can transition to hybrid mode on a

case-by-case basis.

Skills and Experience:

Required

• Proficient in Python and standard ML tools and packages

• Experience working in a Linux environment.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Databricks/Snowflake/GCP) and containers

(Docker/Kubernetes)

• Good understanding of SW design methodologies

• User-level experience with Git or equivalent

• Experience working with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence

• Legally authorized to work in the USA.

Preferred

• At least 1-2 years of relevant industry experience

• Familiarity with microservices infrastructure on the cloud
