Memorial Hospital offers a new program for nursing students.
The Nurse Intern program is a dynamic non-paid learning experience that allows nursing students in the last year of their program to participate in direct patient care with assigned RN mentors. Nursing Interns have the opportunity to train and work with their assigned RN mentor on the Medical/Surgical and Emergency Units while participating in the program.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Nursing student in their last year of an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Program
Provide competency skills completion from Nursing Program
Must remain in good standing with a Cumulative GPA minimum of 3.0, in the Nursing Program
Letter of recommendation from Nursing Faculty

CPR certification
Meet all immunization requirements
Performance Requirements:
Works under the direction of the RN Mentor to Complete all care except for Medication Administration and IV starts
Examples of care
POC testing
Vital Signs
Transfer patients to-from internal departments
Dressing changes
Suctioning
Support Tasks
Documentation with RN Mentor oversight Special Demands:
