General Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Intern to join our Risk Management team. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in various data analytical projects, allowing the intern to develop valuable skills and gain insights into the day-to-day operations of an insurance company.

Dates: June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026 (10 Weeks)

Location: Onsite in Roslyn, NY

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day tasks, such as generating ad-hoc reports/ presentations, creating data visualizations that are easy to interpret for technical and non-technical users.
  • Support team projects by preparing presentations and analyses based on loss runs and clinically coded data to develop risk management strategies and drive business decisions.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to ongoing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to solve problems and achieve project goals.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation.
  • Complete assigned tasks within specified timelines.
  • All other duties as deemed appropriate by management

 

Education & Qualifications:

  • Currently seeking a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate attending an accredited University pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Health Informatics or related quantitative field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Some knowledge of industry-standard programming languages (Python or R) as well as some knowledge of database querying languages (SQL).
  • Familiarity with various business intelligence software (PowerBI or Tableau).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
