Job Summary:
The intern will support a range of activities to enhance departmental goals, promote organizational objectives, and gain practical experience in communications, content management, digital asset management, and basic IT operations.
Scope of WorkÂ
The intern will perform tasks in the following areas, with an emphasis on collaboration, professional development, and cross-departmental support:Â
Communications DepartmentÂ
• Coordinate with team members to prepare materials for events, campaigns, or outreach.Â
• Enhance organizational messaging, increase audience engagement, and develop skills in strategic communication.Â
Magazine DepartmentÂ
• Contribute to content creation, by editing and uploading digitized magazine archiveÂ
• Assist with layout design, photo selection, and coordination with graphic designers Â
• Manage content archives and ensure proper cataloging of past issues.Â
• Support high-quality magazine production, develop editorial skills, and ensure timely  delivery of content.Â
Website SupportÂ
• Update website content, including text, images, and multimedia, using content management systems (CMS), WordPress.Â
• Assist in optimizing web pages for user experience (UX).Â
• Assist staff who monitor website analytics and help prepare reports on user traffic and engagement metrics.Â
• Collaborate with the web team to troubleshoot minor technical issues and implement updates.Â
• Gain experience in web content management and analytics.Â
Digitization ProjectsÂ
• Support the digitization of archival materials, including scanning, organizing, and  cataloging documents, images, or multimedia assets.Â
• Ensure metadata accuracyÂ
• Assist in transferring physical records to digital formats and uploading them to designated platforms or databases.Â
• Collaborate with team members to develop workflows for ongoing digitization efforts.Â
• Preserve organizational assets in digital formats and develop skills in digital archiving and  project management.Â
IT Cross-TrainingÂ
• Participate in training sessions to learn basic IT skills, such as troubleshooting software issues, understanding network basics, or managing cloud-based tools.Â
• Assist IT staff with minor technical support tasks, such as setting up workstations, updating software, or maintaining hardware inventories.Â
• Document IT-related processes or create user guides for non-technical staff.Â
• Gain foundational IT knowledge, enhance technical confidence, and support cross departmental technology integration.Â
