Reports To: Project Manager and/or Senior Project Engineer

Status: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part-time (temporary)

Pay Range: $22.00 to $24.00 hourly 

Supervises: Not Applicable

Location: Hybrid - remote/office


The Civil Intern observes and assists in the development and implantation of clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering purposes.  


Responsibilities:

  • Read civil and architectural plans and specifications
  • Apply engineering knowledge to routine engineering tasks under close supervision
  • Perform basic calculations, simulations, and tests to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Develop basic details under direct supervision
  • Support various engineering staff on multiple projects as needed
  • Create and develop basic engineering designs using CAD and Civil-3D software and other design tools 
  • Perform basic shop drawing/submittal reviews
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

 Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of a Bachelor’s program in Civil Engineering and at least a 3.0 GPA (please provide a copy of your transcript)
  • Knowledge of general engineering principals and general engineering design
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3-D

  • Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 10 pounds
