Internship Summary:
The Foster Care and Adoption Intern will support all positions within the Foster Care Program including Case Planning, Skill Building, Homefinding, Case Aide and Family Visitation.
Intern tasks may include:
- Assist in supervising coached visitation for parents and children
- Work in collaboration with Case Planners, Visitation Coaches and Homefinders to support case work contacts, home visits and services
- Skill Building: Completing routine monthly phone calls and contact notes.Β Providing appropriate interventions to children and parents based on the needs of the child.
- Support training of foster parent skill development in order to best meet the needs of children in their care
- Maintain documentation, scanning and filing for Foster Care and Adoption team utilizing online systems: FACS, Connections, Microsoft Teams
- Maintain monthly paperwork and audits for our children and families
- Create and organize necessary packets and letters for children and families
- Attend recruitment, retention and training events both in-person and virtual
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a BSW or MSW program or related fields.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all work.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diversity, equity and inclusion.
