First Year Intern

First Year Intern   Job Description  We’re excited to welcome first-year students to explore internship opportunities across a variety of departments within our organization. Interns will apply generally and be matched with one or more service areas based on their skills, interests, and availability. This year these departments include:  Marketing Office   The Queen’s Journal  President's Office Commission of External Affairs  Clubs Commission  Commission of Environmental Sustainability  Social Issues Commission - External Affairs Social Issues Commission - Internal Affairs Internal Affairs Office  Food Bank  Communications Office Vice President (University Affairs) Office   Responsibilities  Responsibilities will vary depending on the service area and commitment level, but may include:  Supporting ongoing projects and team initiatives  Conducting research and presenting finding  Assisting with administrative or operational tasks  Participating in team meetings and contributing ideas  Learning and applying relevant tools, platforms, or methodologies    Qualifications  Currently enrolled as a first-year student at Queen's University  Must meet general AMS eligibility requirements  Strong communication and organizational skills  Eagerness to learn and contribute  Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines  No prior AMS experience required    What You’ll Gain  Exposure to real-world work environments   Work alongside Queen’s students on campus  Mentorship from upper year students   Opportunities to explore different career paths  Skill development in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving
