POSITION: College Intern

Open to all Colville Tribal Members who are currently enrolled full-time students.

SALARY: $20.81, per hour

REPORTS TO: Supervisor determined by placement

Each Intern will receive full supervision and training by qualified program or agency representative.

LOCATION: Determined by placement

Duration: 05/12/2025-9/30/2025. NOT TO EXCEED 680 HOURS.

Basic Functions: The Colville Tribes is recruiting twenty-three (23) full time college students, currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution to intern in the tribal organization and its affiliates (i.e., CTFC, IHS, BIA), in an internship program not to exceed 680 hours. Interns will participate in a supervised training program related to their major, career goals, and the needs of the placement agency. Acceptance into an intern position will be a competitive process.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of applying.
  • Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
  • Where specified by the placement program or agency, the applicant must have a declared major in the required field and be enrolled in courses related to major.

Preference will be given to Graduate, Senior, and Junior level applicants.  

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

 

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

 

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
