Purpose:

Administers nursing care for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, Registered Nurse or supervising department manager, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

Greets patients and prepares them for physical examination.

 Assists physician in exam room as needed.

 Performs routine medical tasks (including vital signs, EKG's and reviewing medications with patient).

 Maintains adequate medical supplies in examination rooms, monitors and maintains laundry levels

 Attends department meetings and other meetings as required by division manager.

 Maintains the cleanest possible environment for each patient's examination.

 Checks patients' charts (day before appointment) for appropriate test results and flags.

 Schedules patient appointments, as needed;

 Handles incoming calls, call backs, and appointment reminders, and no-show forms as needed.

 Maintains effective patient flow.

 Maintains patient confidentiality.

 Maintains effective communication and interacts appropriately with patients and staff.

 Assists with phlebotomy responsibilities when needed, if trained.

 Assists as needed with mailing normal lab results

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma

Full COVID 19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment for all position with Wilmington Health. Documentation is required prior to orientation.
