Position Summary:
The Clinical Assistant Intern is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in clinical support, patient care services, and healthcare operations within a nonprofit community healthcare organization. This role provides practical training and work experience while supporting clinical staff, patient flow, and day-to-day healthcare operations in a clinical setting.
The intern will work closely with providers, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to learn clinical support procedures, patient interaction skills, and healthcare workplace expectations. No prior healthcare experience is required; training will be provided.
Essential Functions:
- Assist clinical staff with preparing exam rooms and maintaining clean, organized patient care areasÂ
- Support patient intake and rooming processes under supervisionÂ
- Help obtain and document basic patient information as directedÂ
- Assist with stocking clinical supplies and maintaining inventory organizationÂ
- Escort patients within clinic areas as neededÂ
- Support administrative and clerical functions related to patient care operationsÂ
- Assist with scanning, filing, and maintaining patient-related documentationÂ
- Observe and support patient flow coordination within the clinicÂ
- Respond professionally to patient questions and requestsÂ
- Follow all organizational safety, infection control, and confidentiality policiesÂ
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA guidelinesÂ
- Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and professional development opportunitiesÂ
- Perform other clinical support and administrative duties as assigned

 Qualifications
No prior healthcare or office experience is required. Training and mentorship will be provided throughout the internship.

- Basic computer and keyboarding skillsÂ
