Civil Engineer/Construction Management Technology Intern

Provide administrative, supervisory and field support to project management personnel engaged in the construction of heavy civil projects.   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in on-site inventory of construction materials, project schedule and field documents.
  • Generate production, budget and cost reports for management personnel.
  • Assist in meeting environmental requirements by installing, maintaining and recording erosion and sediment control devices.
  • Set slope stakes and perform other grade setting duties with the GPS unit.
  • General labor and operate heavy equipment.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, assist with estimating and scheduling functions, and input data into project management software.
  • Act as a conscientious, dependable company employee, performing all assigned tasks and observing the functions performed by other people working at the job site during working period.
  • Travel in and around company trade area. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Student mastering or majoring in civil engineering, construction management technology, construction engineering technology, occupational safety and health or any other discipline directly aligned with heavy-civil construction and are desirous to build a career in the heavy-civil industry
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ABILITIES:

Position requires employee to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, handle objects, reach outward, and reach above head and shoulders, climb, squat, kneel, bend, and occasionally lift /carry/push/pull/move/drag on flat ground or steep slopes up to 50 lbs. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Work is indoors and outdoors. Outdoor conditions range from frigid to hot temps, high winds, flying dust, slipping hazards and conditions and frequently exposed to loud noise from heavy equipment and machinery
