The Role
Children’s Services of Roxbury’s Behavioral Health Clinical Internships include weekly engagement with staff, families, youth, and providers. Interns will learn and complete the intake process, assessments, CANS, treatment plans, safety plans, and support engagement throughout treatment in counseling sessions. Responsibilities may also include diagnosing clients, utilizing DSM V standards and collaboration through care in practice of the principles of wraparound services.
Interns must be available for meetings on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and one additional hour per week for individual supervision.
A 1st year internship includes weekly individual engagement with team, co-facilitation of groups, and group curriculum development. The commitment will be largely focused on helping youth and young adults gain socio-emotional wellness skills.
A 2nd year internship includes weekly individual or family session engagement with members, and weekly engagement with staff and providers. The commitment will focus on facilitating strength-based and person-centered therapy for youth and families through a culturally responsive practice, navigating treatment goals and objectives, and developing professional alignment to mental health supports within the community.
