Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Assistant Intern is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations. This role provides practical training in accounts payable processes, administrative support, and professional office procedures within a collaborative business environment.

The intern will work closely with the accounting and finance team to learn day-to-day accounts payable responsibilities while developing organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. No prior accounting experience is required; training will be provided.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with processing vendor invoices and payment requests 
  • Review invoices for accuracy and proper documentation 
  • Enter invoice and payment information into accounting systems 
  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper financial records 
  • Assist with filing, scanning, and document management 
  • Support the reconciliation of invoices and purchase orders 
  • Help monitor payment due dates and vendor communications 
  • Respond professionally to internal and external inquiries 
  • Assist with data entry and administrative accounting tasks 
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information 
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings 
  • Perform other administrative or accounting support duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn 
  • Positive attitude and dependable work ethic 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

 Physical Demands:

  • May sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction device(s)
  • Dexterity and hand to eye coordination as normally associated with operating office equipment, computers and telephones
