About the Role
The New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals are seeking a passionate and motivated Merchandise Operations & E-Commerce Intern to join our Revenue & Events team. This internship is ideal for students interested in Sports Management, Marketing, Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or Entrepreneurship who are looking to gain real-world experience in professional sports.

As a Merchandise Operations & E-Commerce Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting merchandise planning, retail operations, inventory management, Shopify e-commerce, and live event retail execution across both professional soccer and baseball. You'll work alongside our merchandise and revenue team while helping deliver an exceptional fan experience at Hinchliffe Stadium through matchdays, community events, online sales, and special merchandise launches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support merchandise operations during New York Cosmos and New Jersey Jackals home games, community events, and special activations
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, product organization, and stock replenishment
  • Learn how merchandise is planned, launched, and managed from concept through retail sales
  • Assist with Shopify product listings, inventory updates, online order fulfillment, and e-commerce operations
  • Help merchandise and maintain retail displays throughout the stadium and at off-site events
  • Support product photography, merchandise organization, and promotional product launches
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams on merchandise promotions, theme nights, and fan engagement campaigns
  • Assist with mobile retail operations, pop-up shops, and community merchandise activations
  • Help track inventory movement, sales trends, and product performance
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for new merchandise collections, limited-edition products, and fan retail experiences
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Entrepreneurship, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Availability to assist during evenings, weekends, and home games as needed
  • Passion for sports, retail, fan engagement, and live events
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms
  • Experience with inventory management, retail, or customer service
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools
  • Interest in apparel, sports merchandising, fashion, or product development
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Interest in professional sports business and revenue generation
