2026 Game Day Internship

Sussex County Miners
Internship
On-site
Augusta, New Jersey, United States
Do you want to have a chance to work closely with the most entertaining professional sports team in New Jersey? Where dreams come true and fans are left wanting more. Then this 2026 Gameday internship is for you. The Sussex County Miners are an organization built on being family-fun entertainment for all ages and create lasting memories that go beyond baseball. We are constantly trying to find ways to break the norms of professional baseball. We are located in the epicenter of sports and believe we have the players, the staff, and the fans to become must see baseball amongst Minor League baseball. We are looking for interns who understand that this is a show within a baseball game. Who are not afraid to perform, dance, sing, and act for the betterment of our fans. We pride ourselves on being nine innings of pure entertainment at a price that you can’t beat. We encourage the loud personalities and willingness to showcase just who you are as a person for all of our fans to see. You have the chance to truly impact our organization in a way that not a lot of places wouldn’t allow. If all of this applies to you then please submit your application for us to review. We will be conducting a two round interview session. Maybe you are the missing piece we’ve been looking for.

On-Field Promos: On-field promos are an integral part of who we are at the Miners. We have games/promos in between innings of every home game that fans have grown to love and want to be a part of. Our interns are in charge of helping our on-field host with running, setting up, and creating our promos we do for every game. They also will be expected to be involved with our promos whether it’s dancing on the dugout, throwing out t-shirts, or simply hyping our fans up. This is for interns who have experience with performing in front of large audiences and have a background in performance arts. On-field promos help set the tone for the rest of the evening and keep fans engaged for all nine innings.

Kids Zone/Carnival Trailer: The Kids Zone is an area of our stadium where kids can still be kids and still watch a baseball game. We understand that it’s hard for kids to sit still and watch a nine inning baseball game so we created an area where kids can run, jump, laugh, and play. We have an inflatable bounce house that can fit up to 5-6 kids, a sluice mining area where kids can mine for gems/treasures, and our inflatable pitching machine where kids can throw strikes like the Miners pitchers. Our interns will manage each of these areas and also handle the money bags as well. It’s imperative to secure the money bag and also understand that the safety of each individual child is extremely important. The carnival trailer contains two carnival games with prizes for kids all ages.

50/50 + Launch-a-Ball: 50/50 is by far one of the more popular promotions we have at Skylands Stadium. It’s an opportunity for us to work with our local charities and organizations who deserve half the proceeds we make from 50/50 for that night. Our interns will sell raffle tickets and collect the money we get for that night. It’s a chance for fans to be involved with our show and also give back to the community which is something we pride ourselves on doing with the Sussex County area. Launch-a-Ball is a staple of the Miners and has been a fan favorite ever since we’ve implemented it into our promo schedule. It’s a game we have after every game where we sell a bag of tennis balls for $5 and fans have a chance to win prizes by throwing these tennis balls into hula hoops where there is a unique prize at each hoop. It’s something that has helped us stand out amongst other Frontier League teams and is a trademark of who we are.

Utility: Possibly the most vital part of our team and really where we need the best of the best. Wherever we are thin for that night is where we will have you go when you are in the utility role. Whether it’s working in concessions, helping with a picnic, managing a kids birthday party, or helping with the field we will have you somewhere where we lack the manpower. This role is for those who are self-less and are willing to put the team first.

Front Office Hours: Office Hours was first established last year for our interns and has become the focal point for young men and women who want to work in the business, sales, marketing, or management side of things within a sports organization. Our office hours offer you a chance to be a part of our front office staff three times a week working from 9-3. It gives you the opportunity to sit in our team meetings, make sales for our gameday tickets, be able to meet and talk with our sponsors, learn the ins and outs of our team store, and truly become immersed with what it is we do on a day-day basis in the office here at the Miners.
