Position Summary
Violence Prevention Peer Educator Interns serve as student leaders and advocates dedicated to promoting a safe and respectful campus culture through education and outreach. Working under the leadership of the Violence Prevention and Education Office ( VPE ), interns deliver workshops, host outreach events, and support marketing efforts that address critical issues such as healthy relationships, consent and sexual violence, stalking, hazing, and bystander intervention. This is an opportunity for students passionate about prevention work, public health, and peer leadership to gain valuable experience and make a positive impact across the University of Idaho community.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current University of Idaho student enrolled on the Moscow campus. Must be available to commit an average of 10 hours per week throughout the academic year. Availability for evening and occasional weekend work is required. Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and an interest in public health, peer education, or violence prevention. Must concurrently enroll in ESHS 301: Peer Health Education, a 2-credit CPE course offered at the University of Idaho in the Fall semester to gain their CPE certification. Alternative completion may be identified if unable to enroll.
Preferred Qualifications
Majoring in Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, or a related field in health, social sciences, or human services. Prior experience with peer education, public speaking, or group facilitation. Familiarity with prevention education strategies, wellness promotion, or community engagement. Strong interest in building skills related to leadership, communication, and advocacy.
