As the Communication and Marketing Student Intern for University College, you will create and share content that highlights programs, events, and student success at Illinois State University. Your work will include developing social media posts, basic graphics, editing photo and video content, and other digital content that supports our messaging goals. You will also collaborate with staff across campus and help with marketing projects and events.
This internship will strengthen your skills in writing, organization, project management, and teamwork while expanding your professional network.
Duties include:
-Schedule and manage content for University College department and it's surrounding units: Academic Advising, Academic Enhancement, TRiO, Orientation and Training Services, Retention Services, and Community Based Organizations
-Assist with writing and transcribing information from voice recordings in order to provide copy for news and media publications.
-Collaborate with campus partners to create and share announcements and events.
-Capture and edit DSLR video and photography content using Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, and Illustrator.
-Monitor and analyze social media metrics to help drive department content goals.
-Work with University College staff to deliver relevant messaging and share the department's brand story with the rest of campus.

$15.00/hour
-Must be in good standing with both academic and University conduct at the time of application and throughout employment
-There is NO GPA requirement for this role
-Must be professional, highly motivated, personable, timely, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
-Must have foundational knowledge of various social media platforms, preferably with background in creating content for an organization or event.
-Must have strong copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills.
-Must have basic photography skills, with the ability to do slight edits to photos a plus.
-Must have familiarity with shooting and editing video on a smartphone.
8 hours per week. Monday through Friday, between 8:00am and 4:30pm
