    The Skyview Wolverine Athletics Program is rooted in leadership, excellence, and integrity. Middle school and high school student-athletes come together from all Mapleton schools to compete in a variety of sports as the Skyview Wolverines.     QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Colorado Teachers License preferred, however other candidate credentials will also be considered.
    • Enjoy working with students and like to teach and mentor.
    • Have enjoyed speech and debate yourself.
    • Believe in the power of communication and the benefits of speech and debate and are ready to offer the same experience to students.
       

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: 
    The coach will work primarily with a team of high school students who are eager to learn and compete at debate events and tournaments.  The core responsibilities will be coaching the students a minimum of 5 hours of debate practice/instruction per week and participating in at least 5 of the 6 DUDL tournaments between October-April.  All meetings are held after school.
    1. Act as lead coordinator and supervise the assistant coordinator.
    2. Participate in Denver DUDL trainings, meetings, and all competitions.
    3. Committed and able to participate in 5-6 debate competitions, 2 student-teacher training workshops, 2-6 coach-training workshops and 2 coaches' meetings per school year.
    4. Provide at least 5 hours of debate practice/instruction per week for students, during the school year.
    5. Be responsible for student's safety and parent communication.
    6. Work and communicate with Athletic Director regarding scheduling and set up of debate meets held within the district.
