The purpose of this position is to provide real world experience and exposure to Field Service responsibilities for individuals pursuing an interest in related fields. This role will support the Service Technicians and occasionally other Field Service and Service Advisor roles. This position must maintain enthusiasm for learning and acquiring new skills and must have a proactive attitude towards taking on tasks and seeking opportunities to grow. As the Service Technician Intern, this role will have a learning objective to gain hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting, construction terminology, window and door functions and features, customer service, and professional communication.

This position will be temporary during the Summer of 2025 for a duration of 8 to 12 weeks, and approximately 40 hours a week. 

Salary: $18/hour - $20/hour 
 

Here’s what winning looks like in this role:

  • Shadow experienced technicians to learn how to maintain and repair Pella products
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment issues and performing necessary repairs under supervision
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Collaborate with the Service team to ensure completion of repairs and maintenance schedules
  • Document all service and repair activities accurately and maintain records.
  • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance technical skills and knowledge
  • Complete service work orders and communicate any ongoing customer or product related issues with Service Advisors.
  • Answer customer phone calls with the goal to help answer all calls live within 2 minutes and taking down information accurately to get to the right Advisor, help or answer simple questions or identify when a customer is escalated and needs to be live transferred to another advisor for immediate help.
  • Complete a variety of office work as needed to allow for a well-rounded experience, including but not limited to reminder messages, follow-up messages, confirming appointments, etc.
  • Meet company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions, and wearing required safety apparel (i.e. shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to the supervisor or manager.
  • Communicate continuous improvement ideas to the supervisor or manager.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be in compliance with company Fleet Safety Policy.
  • Run products, materials, or tools to a jobsite.
  • Shadow other departments of interest in the company.
  • Behave according to Pella's Core Values.
  • Perform any other necessary task assigned by the supervisor or company in support of company goals or assistance with customer issues.
