This position reports to the Corporate Senior Inventory Manager, and interfaces primarily with Vistar Purchasing team, but will also interact with key internal business partners. The Purchasing Intern will gain exposure to the following areas:
• The big picture / strategy of a Fortune 200 company, specifically how a distribution company operates, and how Purchasing fit in and enables success
• Candy, snack, and beverage distribution industry (Food/Bev)
Specific Responsibilities include:
• Data Analysis on purchasing requirements based on customer needs
• Create enhanced data pulls for Gemini item match up/substitutions/void matrix in order to reduce task time so we can serve our customers more efficiently
Skills the intern will learn:
• Process Improvement
• Various business systems
• Cross-functional collaboration

Required Qualifications
• Must be current student, with a minimum of 3.0 GPA in field of study
• Must be studying Business, or closely related
• Must have intermediate Excel skills, to include pivot tables + v lookups
• Must be available for a 10 week, full-time internship in Englewood June 1 - August 7.

Preferred Qualifications
• Rising Seniors strongly preferred
• Analytics minor/coursework strongly preferred
• SQL, AI applications
