Job Statement

Assist Engineers with duties related to the design, construction, operation, & maintenance of water and gas facilities.

Essential Duties

  1. Obtains field information and inspects construction activities.
  2. Provides data entry for engineering charts and graphs, creates maps, and drafts in CAD software/NISC.
  3. Provides field drawings and drafts work orders.
  4. Orders materials and supplies for gas and water main installations.
  5. Communicates well via phone, email, and in person meetings.
  6. Enters data in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Duties

  1. Performs engineering calculations related to water and gas pipeline installations.
  2. Reviews roadway drawings to determine utility conflicts.
  3. Reviews specifications to determine if construction activities are in compliance.
  4. Reviews GIS maps to determine how to isolate sections of gas or water main and determine customer outages.
  5. Reviews materials for compliance with specifications.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Training/Certifications: Candidate shall be a rising junior or above with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher actively pursuing a Construction Management, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited institution.

 

Experience/Skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Office Word and/or Excel.  Individual should have the ability to work well with others and excellent communication skills.

Additional Requirements

Operation of Equipment: Company vehicle, Personal Computer, Calculator, Mobile Phone and Copier/Scanner.

 

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: Sedentary work in the office and outside work with varying weather conditions.
