    Main purpose of position

To plan, manage and co-ordinate the technical and production requirements of high-quality programmes that informs, educate and entertain audiences in-line with the station mandate and the South African Broadcasting Corporation mandate as envisaged by the broadcasting act.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To initiate and prepare content brief and specifications.
• Program creation and development – research/script development and production.
• Program briefs with Presenters.
• Conduct and utilize the necessary research to conceptualize and define genre’s
• Continually monitor and evaluate content to ensure they are aligned to specifications.
• Provide feedback to Program Manager / Senior Producer – Continuity on content status.
• Ensure that content is conducted in accordance with SABC editorial guidelines and standards.
• Exercise editorial independence during the production of programs.
• Feedback to management on project status.
• Involve all stakeholders in gathering and presentation of information.

INHERENT/ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS   

• National Diploma/Degree in Media studies, Journalism, Communications or relevant qualification (NQF 6)
• Understanding of the different role players within the media landscape
• Understanding of applicable legislative and media laws.
