About the Role
Bohler's Melville, NY office, serving projects throughout the outer New York City metropolitan area, is seeking a curious and organized Permitting Intern. You will work alongside permitting, design, and project professionals to support active applications and learn how requirements, documentation, agency reviews, and project communication come together throughout the approval process.
What You'll Do
- Learn the stages of the permitting process and how applications progress through jurisdictional review and approval.
- Assist with organizing permit applications, fee information, signatures, plan sets, and supporting documentation.
- Help track application status, deadlines, agency comments, inspections, and project milestones.
- Research jurisdictional filing requirements with guidance from the permitting team.
- Gather information from permitting, design, and project team members to support active applications.
- Help maintain organized agency information and electronic and paper project records.

What You'll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required; current enrollment in an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree program in a field related to the work preferred.
- Interest in permitting, land development, construction, planning, real estate development, or project coordination.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Organization, attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn as part of a team.
