** Six-month internship**


Summary Description

Under supervision, sets up, runs, monitors, and controls MIS services according to established procedures. Observes the daily shift of the servers and applications, reporting error messages and deviations from standard. Supports Help Desk & desktop environments.


Essential Duties


Data Processing:

  • Monitors availability of MIS applications/servers (e.g., Spectrum, Branch Suite, Telephone Banking, Online Banking, email, internet access, and UC4 job scheduler)
  • Monitors UC4 job schedules on Core System and various application servers to ensure they are available and responsive
  • Monitors backups to ensure they complete successfully (e.g., evaluate and spectrum transaction logging)
  • Runs daily Run Sheet & routine job schedules
  • Runs Special Run Sheet, quarterly purges, and End of Month processing with supervision

Systems/Help Desk:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade workstation operating systems, applications, and software as directed
  • Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and peripherals to include WorkStations, monitors, keyboards, printers, mice, speakers, and cabling
  • Support wireless devices such as smartphones, tablets, and printers
  • Provide help desk support in coordination with the Help Desk Administrator

MIS General:

  • Maintain procedural documentation on the helpdesk, Data Processing folders, and WiKi
  • Document system problems and resolutions for future reference
  • Assist other personnel of other departments as a MIS resource

Other:

  • Complies with all federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and processes, including (but not limited to) the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and robbery procedures
  • Assist in any other MIS area as directed by the System Analyst II or chain of command thereof.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning the information being processed, stored, and accessed by the network.


Requirements

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One (1) year of Technology related coursework or experience preferred

Skills/Competencies

  • Familiarity with at least one Unix/Linux-based operating system
  • Familiarity with the Windows operating system
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts (electronically and manually) such as, but not limited to, interest, dividends, and percentages and apply concepts of basic mathematics
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work and/or information
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply credit union/job/general guidelines and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and/or written communication skills
  • Demonstrated self-motivated and team-oriented qualities
  • Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work well under pressure
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Flexible work and/or travel hours

  • Office electronics (printers, scanners, calculators, fax and copiers)
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions using logic and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of information systems practices and procedures

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Constantly required to talk and hear
  • Constantly required to use close vision, color vision, and the ability to focus.
  • Frequently required to sit; to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk; to reach outward/above shoulders; to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception are required.
