Job Description

Danfoss in Eden Prairie, MN is searching for a Mechatronics Engineering Intern for the Summer 2023 term. The essential function of this position is to create Dynamic Machine Control solutions using Danfoss’ Electro-Hydraulic and Electronic Controls products. This position will manage projects in all staged of system development, from identifying customer needs to releasing validated applications.

Job Responsibilities

The main job duties will include:

  • Gathering stakeholder & customer requirements.
  • Behavioral modeling and system performance simulation as part of the design process.
  • Specifying system behavior using systems engineering tools and methods.
  • Designing electro-hydraulic architectures to meet system requirements.
  • Developing requirements for hydraulic components, embedded software, electronics, and vehicle interfaces in conjunction with other engineers of various disciplines.
  • Managing vehicle builds.
  • Developing embedded software to control a vehicle subsystem.
  • Developing electro-hydraulic component software drivers and advanced functions for general market use.
  • Commissioning vehicles and verifying system requirements.
  • Documenting designs and presenting status and results.
  • Managing failure reporting and corrective action process.

Background & Skills

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical and Electrical preferred)

Preferred

    • Experience with hydraulic systems and components
    • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical, software, and electronics
    • Project management experience
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
    • Experience working with customers
    • Experience developing hydraulic systems or similar systems
    • Vehicle level modeling/simulation and calibration experience
    • Embedded controls development experience
