CSBio is a leading biotech company in the peptide industry, and for over 30 years has been providing pharmaceutical instrumentation to biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic researchers.

We are welcoming a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern to join us at our Mountain View site to support the Instrumentation team, located a few blocks off the N Shoreline Blvd 101 exit. CSBio's instrumentation team builds products that include peptide synthesizers and DNA synthesizers. (learn more here: https://www.csbio.com/synthesizer.html).

Only local candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and can commit to a full time on-site role for 6 months will be considered. This is a fully onsite role, 5 days in office.

Job responsibilities include the following:

  • Create/update assembly drawings, pneumatic diagrams, electrical diagrams and engineering documents such as manufacturing diagrams and instructions.
  • Establish BOMs for system assemblies; assist with material and component selection, specifications, testing, and analysis as needed
  • Provide product design solutions to meet customer needs through design and preparation of detailed specifications. Continuous development of products to improve performance, quality, reduce costs, and improve regulatory compliance
  • Support and sustain manufacturing activities and facilitate efficient operations within the production environment, optimize existing processes and ensure established production goals are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot systems and components for timely resolution of quality and production issues
  • Writes test protocols, performs experiments, and authors reports to support product verification efforts
  • Perform testing and failure analysis on customer returns


Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, including modeling, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings
  • Strong technical, planning, and communication skills
  • Strong communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams.
  • Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic
  • Able to work efficiently while handling multiple projects and maintaining high quality standards
