PRIMARY SUMMARY: Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for completing manufacturing projects as assigned by the LEAN Manager   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Support Lean Manufacturing projects/Continuous Improvement • Produces production metrics and creates display boards. • Performs time studies to establish production standards • Utilizes Solid Works to create drawings for tools, parts, and work stations, etc… • Create SOP’s and Work Instructions • Other duties may be assigned WAYS OF WORKING, EXPERIENCE, AND BEHAVIORS To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: •Analytical – Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Understands work flows and procedures. •Technical Skills – Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment. •Oral Communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. •Written Communication – Writes technical documents clearly and accurately. •Team Work – Balances team and individual responsibilities. •Business Acumen – Understands business implications of decisions. •Cost Consciousness – Works within approved budget, develops and implements cost savings measures. •Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment. •Planning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently. •Professionalism – Approaches others in a tactful manner, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position. Education and/or Experience •Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Computer Skills An individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access and Computer assisted design (CAD) proficiency.   Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
