Overview

The Maintenance Intern will assist machine technicians in servicing and maintaining all production machinery. Learning essential aspects of the trade through the mentorship of seasoned technicians.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Help to diagnose and repair automated CNC, PLC and industrial PC controlled machinery and equipment, including robots, welders and a variety of sheet metal, copper tube, wire shelf and glass fabrication equipment.   
  • Perform necessary preventative maintenance tasks as . 
  • Submit service reports in a timely manner utilizing maintenance management software. 
  • Communicate with machinery manufacturer’s service department via email or phone in resolving issues whenever necessary. 
  • Place replacement part orders for machinery repairs as . 
  • Help maintain spare part inventory accuracy. 
  • Effectively communicate with appropriate parties regarding machinery repair status. 
  • Communicate frequently with Maintenance Leadership on the status of repairs, PM’s and projects. 
  • May work on specialized automation and integration projects. (New process equipment and special machines) 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Completed at least 1yr of a training in an Automation or Electrical Technology degree or certification program at an accredited trade school.  
  • Basic knowledge and use of basic hand tools is preferred. 
  • Customer service driven and focused. 
  • Must have basic mechanical and electrical skills. 
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Must be able to work with confidential and sensitive information. 
  • Competent in Microsoft Outlook. 
  • Must be upbeat, reliable, detail-orientated and a team player and enjoy a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Can represent themselves, the department and the company in a professional manner at all times.

The hours for this position are 5:40 am - 4:10 pm Monday through Thursday.
