As a Product Design Intern, you will help create the next generation of hardware devices. You will gain hands-on experience bringing the design from concept to reality.\\nHands-On Design: 3D and 2D mechanical design of components, mechanisms, and electro-mechanical integrations (battery, antenna, PCB, interconnections).\\nPrototyping \u0026 Testing: Help generate concepts, build prototypes, and perform rigorous mechanical, tolerance, and failure analysis to evaluate the design.\\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Hardware, Program Management, Industrial Design, Operations, Manufacturing, and Reliability teams to ensure designs meet aesthetic and functional goals.
Support design, engineering, prototyping, and validation activities in both laboratory and factory environments.\\nCreate 3D models and 2D drawings, and perform tolerance analysis to ensure precise fit and assembly.\\nConduct engineering data collection and leverage statistical or AI-driven tools to analyze results and inform design decisions.\\nOptimize component designs for high-volume manufacturing, applying DFM/DFA principles for injection molding, sheet metal, and CNC machining.\\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support factory builds and perform root-cause/failure analysis (may include up to 20% travel).\\nCommunicate technical specifications, test results, and design updates clearly and effectively to internal teams and external vendors.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred).\\nHands-on prototyping experience utilizing 3D printers, CNC mills, lathes, and/or other fabrication methods.\\nKnowledge of materials science fundamentals, spanning plastics, metals, adhesives, glass, ceramics, composites, and coatings.\\nFamiliarity with manufacturing and tolerancing, including DFM, DFA, statistical tolerance analysis, and GD\u0026T.\\nUnderstanding of engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) theory, general mechanical principles, and statistical tools.\\nFamiliarity with electro-mechanical integration, specifically packaging components like batteries and wireless antennas into mechanical enclosures.\\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, fueled by a genuine curiosity for how things work.\\nHighly proactive and adaptable, with the initiative to drive tasks forward and the flexibility to pivot when needed.\\nStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tests and project requests simultaneously.\\nExcellent written and verbal communication, paired with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment.
