Special Information:

Identity of applicants who become finalists may be released to the public if the Department deems it necessary. Work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor environment. 

• Frequently works in adverse outdoor conditions including temperature extremes, snow and rain, dust, and mosquito infested areas.

• Works with public and may inform public of site rules and regulations.

• May be required to lift over 25lbs across rugged terrain.

• The position may require some travel.  The incumbent will be required to work variable hours, weekends, and holidays.

Job Duties:

Duties include assisting visitors at the Lone Pine Visitor Center, assisting with the development and delivery of interpretive and educational programs to students, groups and visitors, leading hikes, assisting with school field trip activities, gift shop retail sales, light building/grounds/trail maintenance, janitorial, and other duties as assigned. Other projects will include performing volunteer recruitment and community outreach with AmeriCorps staff. Assisting Park Mangers to develop a vegetation management plan and forest inventory for all Region 1 state parks.
