Position Overview:

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internist to join a skilled nursing home facility in Peekskill, NY. Qualifications:

  • Education: MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure: Active NY State Medical License (required).
  • Experience: New graduates are welcome; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in chronic disease management, geriatric care, and acute illness treatment
  • Soft Skills: Excellent bedside manner, communication, and teamwork abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and diagnose acute/chronic conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and monitor treatment efficacy
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Provide preventive care and health education
  • Coordinate care with specialists and interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Potentially serve on-call for urgent patient needs
