• This job opportunity is with the Application Security Management team, within Information Security.
• Specifically, this job will be focused on the database vulnerability program.
• The database vulnerability program is responsible for the identification and remediation of database vulnerabilities identified within the American Express environment.
• Identified vulnerabilities are tracked and communicated to the application teams for remediation.
Job Responsibilities:
• The dissemination, communication and follow-up of identified vulnerabilities to applicable application teams.
• Tracking and reporting of vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Guides third party and technical team members in terms of remediation of existing vulnerabilities, as well as best practices for future configuration values and adherence to standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience working in a complex enterprise Information Technology or Information Security environment with an emphasis on database design, architecture or administration (DBA).
• 1+ years of experience working within Audit, Compliance or Operational Risk environments with an emphasis on Information Security.
• Demonstrated expertise with SQL, for platforms including SQL Server, Oracle and/or DB2.
• Knowledge/background in mainframe database environment(s) considered a plus.
• Industry recognized security certifications including CISSP, CSSLP, and CEH are considered a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to effectively explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Self-driven with the ability to manage own delivery of challenging targets and solve problems with limited guidance.
• Experience with American Express technical processes is considered a plus.
