POSITION SUMMARY:

The New York City Ballet Membership team is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible intern. The individual in this position will gain practical work experience in the areas of development and donor relations.

Internship dates: June 9, 2026 – August 28, 2026

Desired time commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn how to correspond with donors over the phone, acting as an initial point of contact in Membership office, assisting with annual gift renewals and voicemail inquiries
  • Assist the Membership team with printing and mailing acknowledgment letters, donor ID cards, and premiums
  • Assist with Membership mail and email marketing campaigns
  • Assist with proofing of annual donor welcome packet materials
  • Help maintain the Individual Giving team’s brochure inventory in the theater lobby
  • Support the Membership and Patron Program teams with other administrative support as needed
  • Attend staff meetings and events whenever support is necessary

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a currently enrolled student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Interest in Development and Arts Administration
  • Knowledge of NYCB a plus

 

This internship will provide a great opportunity to experience how a Membership and Development department operate within a non-profit performing arts organization. Standard office attire is business casual and formal for special events.
