Internship Description:
The Business Development Intern at ARUP Laboratories will support strategic growth initiatives by splitting time between Marketing and Healthcare Advisory Services teams. This role offers exposure to both commercial strategy and healthcare consulting, with a focus on laboratory outreach, health system partnerships, and market expansion.
The intern will contribute to client deliverables, while gaining hands-on experience in laboratory medicine, healthcare economics, and provider-facing consulting services.
Internship Goals:Â
Support development of targeted marketing strategies for blood donor centers
Participate in market research on blood donor recruitment strategies
Develop marketing materials, including:
Assist consultants in delivering advisory services to hospitals and health systems
Support financial and operational analyses
Conduct research on regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP, CMS) and industry benchmarks
Contribute to development of client deliverables
Work across marketing, sales, and consulting teams to align growth strategy with client needs
Synthesize findings into clear, executive-level insights

Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently and effectively communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
