Schedule:  Part-Time Shift:  M-F; 1st Shift

 

Position Summary
Under direct supervision, provides support for project management to include inspecting, coordinating, evaluating, recordkeeping and aiding in contract specification development for Water Operations. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical skills and must be a part of daily activities.

Education

  • Required - Completed a minimum of one (1) year of college level coursework, preferably in civil or mechanical engineering, or a closely related or technical field of study. Must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program or if a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours.


Minimum Requirements

  • Preferred - Experience with CAD.


Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing

  • Required - Have and maintain a valid driver’s license Upon Hire
  • Required - Pre-employment Background Check & Drug Screen Upon Hire


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, and/or other electronic devices to include familiarity with, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and enterprise wide software (e.g., SAP).
  • Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills including ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing work demands and interruptions.
  • Must exhibit good analytical ability.
  • Ability to work independently on a consistent basis is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with management, co-workers, and other personnel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English, to assist internal and external customers, co-workers, and management professionally, regardless of provocation.


Essential Functions

  • Assist with inspecting, administering, and developing specifications for various District projects within the Water Department.
  • Record daily field reports/project diary defining specified work completed, equipment used, workers on site, and weather.
  • Monitor construction activities to verify conformance with contract documents and document activities and observations.
  • Assist with updating As-Built drawings.
  • Drive District vehicles.
  • Process various project records as needed.
  • Assist with miscellaneous special projects as needed.
