The Water Replenishment District of Southern California (WRD or District) is a California Special District responsible for managing and protecting local groundwater resources for over 4 million residents. As a local government agency, WRD ensures that a reliable supply of high-quality groundwater is available through the use of stormwater capture and recycled water.Â
WRD is seeking a motivated intern for its Hydrogeology Department. Â Under supervision, the intern will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience collecting data in the field, preparing tables/graphs in the office for various compliance related reports, and supporting other various projects and programs overseen by the Hydrogeology Department.
This multifaceted position will include a wide variety of activities across various disciplines including geology, chemistry, environmental, water resources, and hydrogeology. Â The intern will have an opportunity to work with seasoned professionals with experience in both the public and private sectors and will also have access to registered professional geologists (PG) and certified hydrogeologists (CHg). The ideal candidate must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university and be pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field. Candidates must be available to work 10 to 24 hours per week.

Candidates must have Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, such as ArcGIS, is desirable but not required. This position requires flexibility to work in a variety of settings, including both office and outdoor environments, as assigned by the District.
Duration
COMPENSATION:Â $25.87 per hour for undergraduate students and $28.45 per hour for graduate students
For purposes of employment, interns are considered temporary employees and are not eligible for any benefits unless required by law.
