INTERN TITLE: Host Team Intern
DEPARTMENT: Hospitality
REPORTS TO: Director of Hospitality
DAYS/HOURS: Friday - Sunday (20-25 hours)
LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale Campus

Mission of Hospitality Ministry:
Hospitality ministry seeks to engage with people at a high level of hospitality for all who call in or come to our church. With every interaction, we seek to love like Jesus by creating an experience where people’s needs are anticipated and by going the extra mile to make them feel like they belong.
Role of Host Team Intern:
Church Reception:
- Answering and directing incoming calls to the right ministry or staff member. (Share helpful updates, inspiration, and info about our services, ministries, directions, and resources)
- Assisting with Benevolence/Counseling/Prayer Requests.
Church Services:
- Walk through the campus, ensuring property is set for the weekend (signage, handouts, etc.).
- Attend/lead weekend pre-service meetings (announcements/weekend specific instruction).
- Connect with new Host Team Volunteer(s) and assist with Volunteer training.
- Assist with volunteer placement to ensure all positions are covered.
- Supporting the New Believer Ministry. Being available and present for all altar calls.
- Assist in staging/staffing of Connection Point (Welcome Center), as well as maintaining and ordering handouts/supplies.
- Church Lost and Found.
- Collaborate with the Parking Team to avoid any potential delays.
- Assist with Communion setup and distribution.
Baptism:
- Coordinate with Baptism Speaker(s) and Worship Team.
- Organize and pack the Baptism Truck with volunteer(s).
- Help with beach setup/teardown.
Learning goals:
- Grow in the ability to reflect the love of Jesus through warm, intentional, and inclusive interactions with guests, volunteers, and staff.
- Cultivate a heart for servant leadership: learn to anticipate needs and go the extra mile in creating a welcoming and worshipful environment for all.
- Develop the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately via phone and in-person.
- Learn to share information in a way that reflects the organization’s mission and values.
- Gain experience in training, supporting, and placing volunteers to meet ministry needs.
- Learn how to build rapport and work effectively with diverse teams (e.g., Host Team, Parking Team, Worship Team).
- Understand the logistics behind setting up for services and special events (e.g., Communion, Baptism).
- Learn to manage resources, supplies, and scheduling to ensure smooth execution of church operations.
- Gain confidence in responding to prayer requests, benevolence needs, and connecting with new believers with sensitivity and discretion.
- Build confidence in leading meetings and making real-time decisions that affect weekend services and ministry flow.

Work Schedule:
Thursday: 9a - 2p
Friday 9a - 5p (Intern cohort from 9a - 2p)
Saturday 1p - 8p
Sunday 8a - 1p
*Hours and days may vary depending on campus-wide events taking place. Additionally, you may have to bend, sit, or stand for prolonged periods of time, lift, pull, push and/or move up to 35 lbs
