Who are we looking for?
At GHD we are looking for new Geoscience Intern to join the CAR team at our Phoenix, AR office. In this role you will conduct research or perform evaluations of a geological or hydrogeological nature. Create technical reports to inform proposals, budgets, support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance for civil infrastructure projects or projects to address environmental challenges. Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of soil, water, and other sources.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
- Geoscientific Studies and Interpretations: Help senior colleagues collect and analyze data by performing routine geological/geophysical calculations.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
- Sampling and Testing: Collect a range of straightforward samples and undertake testing as directed and in accordance with defined processes and requirements to support regulatory compliance activity.
- Exploration Plan Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of exploration plans for specific projects.
- Document Preparation: Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.
- Soil Analysis: Participate in soil tests for specific small-scale farming projects.
- Research: Support others by carrying out a range of research activities.
- Mineral Reserves and Resource Assessment: Participate in evaluation and management of mineral reserves for specific, simple projects.
What you will bring to the Team
Education
- Currently enrolled in a engineering, environmental science, geology or equivalent Bachelor's or Master’s degree program
Experience
- General Experience: No experience required.

Salary Range: $20,00- $25,00 based on experience and location.
