Position Summary

The Accounting Intern supports our finance team by assisting with day-to-day accounting operations. 

 

Accounting Intern – Duties & Responsibilities

•    Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records in ERP or accounting systems
•    Support the team with reconciliations (intercompany accounts, expense reports, inventory or balance sheet accounts)
•    Help prepare monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules
•    Assist with updating and maintaining Excel tracking files and financial models
•    Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice verification and documentation
•    Help organize and maintain financial documentation and audit support files
•    Assist in reviewing cost coding, expense reports, and basic financial transactions for accuracy
•    Provide general administrative support to the office team as needed
•    Participate in process improvement initiatives, including improving Excel templates and reporting tools
•    Work closely with operations teams to help gather basic operational and financial information

 

Qualifications

•    Recent graduate or currently completing a diploma/degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
•    Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas such as SUMIFS, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
•    Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
•    Good business acumen and interest in understanding how operations impact financial results
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with numbers and data
•    Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
•    Willingness to support administrative and routine tasks when required
•    Strong communication and teamwork skills
•    Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

 

Nice to Have (Not Required)

•    Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, etc.)
•    Experience with Power BI or data visualization tools
•    Internship or part-time experience in accounting, finance, or business operations
