Position Summary
The Parker Engineering Intern Program is designed to develop emerging engineering talent through hands-on exposure to both manufacturing engineering and product engineering. Interns will support real projects that improve shop-floor processes, assist with product and drawing updates, support manufacturing systems, and help identify ways to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow.
This paid internship includes measurable goals, mentorship, and practical experience in a manufacturing environment. The role gives interns the opportunity to work across different areas of engineering, allowing them to gain a wholistic understanding of how products are designed, supported, produced, and improved within Parker. This experience may also serve as a pathway to Parker’s Engineering Leadership Development Program.
Summer semester internships must be at least 10 weeks in length. Repeat and longer opportunities available.Â
Responsibilities
With direct supervision and support from Parker engineering team members, the intern will:
Split time between Manufacturing Engineering and Product Engineering assignments.
Support production-floor process improvements, equipment methods, and manufacturing workflow projects.
Assist with product and equipment drawings, engineering documentation, floor plan layouts, and design-related updates.
Help evaluate and troubleshoot production improvement opportunities and support practical engineering solutions.
Participate in hands-on projects that improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, or efficiency.
Support manufacturing systems, process data, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.
Work with engineers, operators, technicians, and other team members to understand product and process needs.
Attend training, learn Parker engineering processes, and apply that knowledge to assigned work.

Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical (Machine Controls) Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Demonstrated leadership interest or experience through class projects, student organizations, work experience, internships, volunteer activities, or extracurricular involvement.
Interest in working in a manufacturing environment.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Desire to learn both manufacturing and product engineering functions.
