We are seeking a reliable and adaptable Power Systems Engineering Intern to support our engineering team in planning, analysis, and operational support of electrical power systems. This role is ideal for someone interested in power distribution, electrical infrastructure, and real-world grid operations, and who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the field.

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide engineering and administrative support including data entry, documentation, and technical report preparation related to power systems
  • Assist with analysis of electrical power systems, including load studies, system performance, and reliability assessments
  • Support project managers with design, planning, and evaluation of electrical distribution or generation systems
  • Help maintain and update system models, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Assist with data collection from field operations, SCADA systems, or other monitoring tools
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to electrical system performance
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and warehouse teams for materials and project support as needed
  • Adapt quickly to new tasks and priorities as assigned by engineering or project leads

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age: 18 years old
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (focus in power systems preferred)
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals (circuits, power flow, three-phase systems)
  • Familiarity with engineering or power system software (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, ETAP, SKM, or similar) is a plus
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, internet navigation)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and ability to work in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Work Schedule:

Flexible part-time hours based on department needs.Β 

Physical Demands & Competencies:

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Data entry, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & basic math skills
  • Exposure to electrical equipment, field environments, and engineering tools
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and understand electrical safety practices
  • Basic knowledge of power system operations, safety standards, and equipment
