Role Title: Editorial Innovation Intern
Department: Innovation Team
Company: Daily Mail / dmg media
Location: High Street Kensington, London, UK
Contract Type: Full-time Internship (2 months, with strong potential for permanent hire upon
successful completion)
Target Audience: Early-career candidates, current university students, or recent graduates
About the Role
The Daily Mail is seeking a tech-literate and forward-thinking Editorial Innovation Intern to join its cutting-edge Innovation Team. We are looking for an early-career journalist who is
genuinely excited about how new technology can enhance journalism and who wants to spend their days building systems in one of the world's biggest newsrooms. Or someone from a tech background who wants to pursue a career in media. High performers will learn future-facing skills and have a clear pathway to transition into a permanent full-time role.
The successful applicant will sit within the Innovation Team, a new team that designs, tests, and ships the AI tools journalists use daily. That work is delivered through Mail iQ, a suite of AI-powered tools which helps journalists across all aspects of their work. Successful applicants do not need a formal background in journalism. But they do need an interest in emerging technology, a passion for news, and a strong desire to learn new ways of telling stories. Experience and experimentation using LLMs, or forward-facing tech platforms/processes are desired.
