Community Relations Intern

We’re looking for a driven and service-minded Community Relations Intern to join us for the Fall 2025 term. If you’re passionate about community engagement, storytelling, and making a difference, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a purpose-driven organization.

This 20-hour per week, in-office internship runs through December 2025 and pays $15/hour. The ideal intern will gain exposure to corporate community relations, nonprofit partnerships, experience in planning and promoting community engagement initiatives, networking opportunities with professionals across departments and sectors, and insight into how financial institutions support local communities beyond banking.

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Work with Community Relations Manager to activate key sponsorship opportunities that align with FAIRWINDS’ community engagement strategy.
• Support the planning and logistics of employee volunteer events and community initiatives.
• Assist with tracking employee volunteerism and maintaining accurate records in reporting systems.
• Help develop content for internal communications, newsletters, and social media to highlight community involvement.
• Attend community events and help represent FAIRWINDS to external partners.
• Support administrative tasks including preparing materials and organizing schedules.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to enhance community impact.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Canva or social media platforms is a plus.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Passion for community and economic development, volunteerism, and social impact.
• Availability to work a 20 hours per week during the internship term.
