Community-based General Internal Medicine Physician | Internal Medicine SOM (M67570)

Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking physician candidates to provide care in the Center for Team Care (CTC). The CTC is an employee focused primary care clinic that delivers comprehensive primary care to include acute and episodic care, chronic disease management, and wellness visits in a concierge like, capitated model. 

Position Responsibilities: 

Clinical | Delivering high quality, cost effective care with a dedicated focus on patient experience.  Provider will be expected to manage a patient panel and work on an interdisciplinary team.

Other | Comply promptly with billing, documentation, credentialing and other administrative requirements of the department.

Required Qualifications: 

• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Direct experience in managing a complex panel in a busy primary care clinic
• Must have demonstrated interest and expertise in value-based care delivery
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in population health and proactive management of patient panels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to support the advance of the research, scholarly and academic missions of the division
