Founded in 1955, Dignity Health - Northridge Hospital Medical Center is a 394-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located. As our Clinical Laboratory Scientist Intern (Student) / Medical Technologist Intern (Student), you will embark on a critical learning journey within a dynamic laboratory environment. All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. You will be instrumental in supporting high-level customer satisfaction through cost-effective and respectful service. Under the guidance of the Laboratory Director, Director of Laboratory Services, Laboratory Supervisor, and Laboratory Medical Staff, you will engage in tasks that directly contribute to accurate and timely diagnostic services, adhering to stringent laboratory regulations and quality assurance protocols. This role offers invaluable hands-on experience for aspiring laboratory professionals.

Every day, you will perform a variety of essential laboratory tasks, including analyzing patient samples using standardized procedures for moderate and high complexity testing, as defined by 42 CFR 493.1425 and 42 CFR 493.1495. You will meticulously record and accurately transmit results to requesting physicians using established laboratory information systems. Your responsibilities will further include gaining proficiency in various laboratory sections, understanding instruments, and contributing to the overall efficiency of laboratory operations. This direct involvement ensures the delivery of reliable diagnostic data critical for patient care.
