This position will serve as an ambassador of care for patients both before and after a patient visit. The position will work as a resource to help support clinics and providers. The expectation from this position is that it will support and assist in departmental workflows, processes, and procedures to maintain departmental consistency and ensure patient satisfaction throughout the clinic.
PATIENT POPULATION - (CLINICAL ONLY)
Engages in population appropriate communication. Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks. Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment. Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient. Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary. Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems. Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately. Identifies and responds appropriately to different needs resulting from, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious / cultural norms. Performs treatments, administers medication or operates equipment safely. Recognizes and responds to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect.

Other Duties as assigned
-Filling in scheduling gaps for all UEC physicians to ensure full block utilization by scheduling open access cases
-Utilizing the GI referral queue and Colo Line email inbox to reach to patients and schedule upcoming procedures, site specific to UEC
-Collecting missing insurance information for upcoming procedures and entering in Epic (real-time verification of insurance)
-Rearranging patients when gaps are present the day before to ensure efficient block time use
-Communicating with the UEC team when scheduling changes occur (received via Epic or the Colo Line inbox) to marry up Epic with Provation, the onsite EMR
Skills:
-Clinical background preferred as accurate scheduling requires:
*The scheduler to review UEC’s Patient Selection Criteria and the patient’s Problem List in Epic to discern if the patient is appropriate for the Center.
*The scheduler will select the appropriate prep based on the physician’s instruction if different from the standard Golytely prep
*Note – If the scheduler is uncertain of appropriateness, UEC CRNA and Director of Nursing available to consult and provide guidance in real time

*Lead Connect Follow Up (outreaching to schedule patients who requested appointments through our
Minimum Required: High School Diploma or GED. Preferred: Associate degree. | Minimum Required: 2 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.
